Position Details:

YYZ Translations is currently looking to contract 20 translators who have native and modern fluency in Pashto (Afghanistan) and English languages. This includes university level or equivalent knowledge of Pashto and English and the tools required for performing translation work. The responsibilities of this position are as follows:

• Translate text provided to them in a professional manner.
• Meet deadlines as mandated by the project manager.
• Develop and maintain a glossary of terms for every project that they translate.
• Be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment.

Candidates applying for this position are required to meet the following qualification criteria:

• Must have academic background in translation of English to Pashto, or equivalent working experience.
• Must have the capacity to translate between 2000 to 5000 words per day.
• Fluent in reading, writing, comprehension, and all forms of communication in Pashto and English languages.
• Must be able to communicate via internet, email and telecom equipment.
• They should have a pleasant and open working attitude.
• Open to learning new skills and operation of tools and equipment.
• Should be able to pass an entry test by translating 3 paragraphs as a sample for quality check.
• Should be able to provide reliable references if required.

Software Skills Required:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), ability to type in Pashto and English.
