YYZ Translations has established a dedicated unit for translation and localization of material in the training and eLearning industry. This initiative is a response to a growing need for translation of content for clients that are offering training services. In 2008 and 2009 YYZ Translations has translated over 8 million words for the training and eLearning customers and it is expected to significantly grow in 2010.

This new unit was created by selecting qualified staff with background in education, learning, and curiculum development. The team is managed from YYZ Translations' head quarters in Toronto, and sub-teams are located in 19 countries. Each sub-team deals with projects in their own locale and in their country. In some cases the sub-teams are loaned to in-country clients to compliment the clients' existing resources and develop the material based on their specifications. 

This unit of YYZ Translations operations team can cover translation of training material for almost all industries, including:

and many others. The core objective of this initiative is to ensure that the training material should have the exact same impact in the target (translated) language as it has in the source language. This involves a very rigorous translation, editing, and quality assurance process. Besides translation, this unit also provides  desktop publishing services using InDesign, Power Point, Quark and other tools, which will tailor the presentation of the content for the target audience in a culturally acceptable fashion.

YYZ Translations has implemented a state-of-the-art centralized translation management system (TMS) that allows it to reuse translation material, management of terminology, and management of end to end project lifecycle in a secure and flexible environment. The newly created unit will take advantage of YYZ TMS in order to maintain a high level of quality and consistency throughout all projects for clients of this unit.

This is an ambitious initiative and has already shown results, the number of returning clients from the training and eLearning industry has already quadrupled and YYZ Translations has expanded its capacity by 200%.  Partnerships with companies in the learning and training industry is expected to grow and YYZ Translations will continue to add to its existing capacity and expand this unit to best accomodate the requirements of its clients.
