Position Details:
YYZ Translations is currently looking to contract 1 editor who has native and modern fluency in Arabic and
English
languages. This includes university level or equivalent knowledge of Arabic and English and the tools required for performing translation and editing
work. The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Edit and translate text provided to them in a professional manner.
- Meet deadlines as mandated by the project manager.
- Develop and maintain a glossary of terms for every project that they translate or edit.
- Provide
detailed commentary and critique on the quality of the translations
that are edited, recommenations on areas of improvement and identify
risks in advance.
- Must be able to edit machine translation.
- Be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment.
Candidates applying for this position are required to meet the following qualification criteria:
- Background in medical and medical equipment/hardware subject matter is required.
- Must have academic background in translation of English to Arabic, or equivalent working experience.
- Must have the capacity to edit/translate between 2000 to 5000 words per day.
- Fluent in reading, writing, comprehension, and all forms of communication in Arabic and English languages.
- Must be able to communicate via internet, email and telecom equipment.
- They should have a pleasant and open working attitude.
- Open to learning new skills and operation of tools and equipment.
- Should be able to pass an entry test by translating 3 paragraphs as a sample for quality check.
- Should be able to provide reliable references if required.
