Position Details:

YYZ Translations is currently looking to hire 2 to 5 DTP specialists who have native and modern fluency in French and Spanish languages to complement its existing DTP team. This includes university level or equivalent knowledge of French and Spanish and the tools required for performing DTP. The responsibilities of this position are as follows: 

• Format technical, non-technical, legal, medical and other English texts to Arabic.
• Provide editing support for translated text when required.
• Provide regular reporting on the projects that the translator is actively working on.
• Support DTP, editing and other teams by reviewing formatted and edited translation text.
• Attend company meetings and discussions on projects and future roadmap of the organization.
• Be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment.
• Manage high stress levels.

Candidates applying for this position are required to meet the following qualification criteria: 

• Must be able to format any kind of English, French, Spanish and possibly Arabic texts.
• Must be able to format and perform DTP with at least 50 to 100 pages per day.
• University education or equivalent with a special focus on graphics, formatting and word processing.
• Fluent in reading, writing, comprehension, and all forms of communication in French and Spanish languages.
• Must be able to communicate via internet, email and telecom equipment.
• They should have a pleasant and open working attitude.
• Open to learning new skills and operation of tools and equipment.
• Should be able to pass an entry test by formatting 3 documents (each with 2 pages) as a sample for quality check.
• Should be able to provide reliable references if required.

Software Skills Required:

• Adobe Creative Suite
• Quark Express
• Advanced Microsoft Office (in particular Powerpoint and Word)
• Knowledge of either web-authoring tools (including Flash and Dreamweaver) or Lotus Notes/Domino would be useful.
• Knowledge of content management systems an asset.
