Process
Our projects conform to the highest standards of Project Management. We strongly believe that following our processes that have been practiced in the industry for decades, will ensure success, timeliness and client satisfaction. Not only we use standard Project Management software and tools such as Microsoft Project 2003, Microsoft Visio (for process design)  and others, but we also practice Project Management as experienced and educated Project Managers.

The following describes our processes at a high level:

Concept:

During this phase of the project, a potential client approaches YYZ Translations for a potential project. At this stage in the project, the scope of the project may be known, because in most instances the client already knows what needs to be translated. However, in some other cases, the scope and length of the project may not be known. Regardless, of the scope and length of project, it is evaluated for complexity and resource availability. All projects are treated with high priority and every effort is made to make all resources available to every project.

 

Planning:

Once the project has been accepted by YYZ Translations and the client has negotiated project costs and requirements, the project moves to a planning stage. In this stage, YYZ Translations discusses the project and its scope with its staff internally. Things such as resource availability, volume of work, project schedule and scope-creep are prepared. The project schedule is made in such a way so that the deliverable is prepared for submission before the client deadline. Most important of all, the deliverable is defined and solidified.

Design:

In this phase the work load is distributed among the linguists and translators involved. The deliverable is broken down into real work that needs to be performed by translators. Project stakeholders sign off on the design documentation and prepare for Implementation stage.

Implementation:

This is the stage where the real language work is performed. In some instances this could take hours, while in others it could take weeks or months. This stage is critical as the translators dedicate their work time to the given project and concentrate on the deliverable.

Review:

Once a document is translated, it is then submitted for review by a review board. This board constitutes of a number of senior and qualified translators who will check for problems, such as spelling, grammar, ambiguity, excessive or unnecessary transliteration etc. At the end of this stage, if the board thinks that the document requires more work, it is sent back to the translator, otherwise it is submitted for the client approval.

Evaluation:

After the review has been completed and the client has approved the final deliverable, a set of questions designed for getting constructive feedback about the over all process and quality of the final deliverable, is sent to the client. Upon receipt of the evaluation response from the client it is studied by a Business Improvement Board, and any constructive and positive ideas are submitted to the executive and management teams for introduction into our practices.
