Position Details:
YYZ Translations is currently looking to contract 2 freelance editors who have native and modern fluency in American English. This includes university level or equivalent knowledge of English. The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Review English text translated from other languages.
- Identify errors and omissions through tracking functions of MS. Office or other tools.
- Provide corrective comments and criticism that can go back to translators.
- Must ensure the final text is error-free, grammatically correct and stylistically meets today's practiced English requirements.
Candidates applying for this position are required to meet the following qualification criteria:
- Must have academic background in writing of English, or equivalent working experience.
- Must be familiar with a diverse range of subjects (ie legal, government, media, and others), cultural nuances is required.
- Must have the capacity to edit/review between 2000 to 5000 words per day.
- Must be able to communicate via internet, email and telecom equipment.
- They should have a pleasant and open working attitude.
- Open to learning new skills and operation of tools and equipment.
- Should be able to pass an entry test by translating 3 paragraphs as a sample for quality check.
- Should be able to provide reliable references if required.
